The Elzayani Method was founded by Jessica Elzayani, who reverted to Islam in the United States in 2016. Living far from a Muslim community and without access to formal Qur’an instruction, she shared a longing familiar to many reverts: to recite the words of Allah with care, accuracy, and confidence.
While Arabic transliterations made the Qur’an accessible in Latin script, they often fell short of guiding how the Quran is truly recited. The desire for a clearer, more intuitive approach remained—one that could support pronunciation, flow, and understanding all at once.
Over time, Jessica began meeting reverts from different backgrounds who voiced the same struggle. Again and again, the same question surfaced: Why is there no transliteration that truly helps with recitation? What began as a personal need revealed itself as a shared one.
In September of 2024, that question became action. Jessica began developing what would become The Elzayani Method—a new approach to Qur’an transliteration designed to improve readability, reflect the Qur’an as it is recited, and weave Tajweed guidance directly into the Latin script.
Today, the method continues to grow with intention and momentum. With the support of a team of memorizers and teachers of the Quran, The Elzayani Method is being refined as a dedicated effort to serve the Ummah—especially those learning from afar yet striving deeply to connect with the Quran.
